A "Note" of Praise

We are singing songs of thanks this week.  God has provided a piano for Lakeshore Baptist!  A friend of a Bay City church member was looking for a home for her gently used piano.  God crossed our paths unexpectedly, and she has donated it to the church as a free gift.  What an answered prayer!  It sounds lovely, it's the perfect size for our space, and it even matches the wood stain in the building (even the little things :)
Ray was able to finish a few important details this past week as well.  The church now has a P.O. box, and a finished logo.  We are excited to begin printing business cards, door flyers, church letterhead etc.  The new logo is now a professional looking symbol we can put on anything, so that the community and supporting churches can immediately associate it with Lakeshore Baptist Church.
Things are happening it seems every day now, as we get closer to the first services, and we continue to see God in even the details.

First Bible Study!

Yes, that exclamation point is intentional! (That one too :)  We're so excited to have met for our first Bible study in Kewaunee Thursday night.  No one from the community attended this first night, but we are in the early stages of getting the word out and establishing a presence in town.  God has been moving in some families from Bay City to join us for services in Kewaunee this fall.  We are thankful that three of those couples were able to start with us already.

Pastor Ray (Andy) started our study and discussion from John's gospel, and we enjoyed a time of prayer, fellowship, and a little food.  The building may not be done, and we have much yet to prepare, but there is a group of believers in Kewaunee learning and declaring the Truth of God's Word.  Pray that the Light of men directs other believers to this body for growth and encouragment, and brings unbelievers to a place where they can see HIM.

Renovations

It's been a busy week at the church building!  We are thankful for the help of friends.  Jacob Thomas and his brother Andrew have offered a week of their time to work on renovations in Kewaunee.  They had intended to do missions work this week with Andrew's church, but plans fell through, so we are reaping the benefit!  The men have been installing a cabinet/countertop with sink and mini-fridge for fellowships, as well as building much needed ceilings over the nursery and jr. church rooms.  The large black wall panels from the previous Verizon store have come down, and everything's patched up for painting.  We are so thankful for their giving of time and hard work.

Tiffany's been working on decorating details these past few weeks, reaching our goal of ordering pew chairs, paint colors, and carpet to patch the auditorium floor.  We have an ad that will run in the paper beginning Saturday, and things are moving on our church logo, so that we'll have it ready for printing pamphlets and use on a website soon.  And so much more!

Please pray for the Thursday night Bible studies that will begin tomorrow at the church, and for the energy to keep up with this pace for the time being.  We praise the Lord for His help that we may "run and not be weary, and walk and not faint."
